Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute the operational activities of the SII projects to be within budget so as to support the achievement of the sales and PBT target:
    – Ensure compliance of SAC at sites
    – Ensures that inspection activities are carried out according to standard methods
    – Assist in preparing and reporting on resources availability and reliability (e.g., manpower, equipment, etc)
    – Produce and control daily production outputs; machine utilisation rate; time management
    – Liaise with clients to schedule daily site drilling and testing activities
    – Plan, co-ordinate ground investigation and operations
    – Planning and executing equipment maintenance and repair works
    – Implement safe work control measures (e.g., mass tool-box meeting, conduct project general inspections, conduct risk assessment, follow safe work procedures, safety orientation & briefing, etc.)
    – Coach and guide staff on the job
  • Prepare field investigation report:
    – Prepare/Check SI Bore logs, project coordination and geotechnical analysis
    – Carry out site in-situ tests according to project requirements
    – Attend and resolve clients’ technical queries and feedback
    – Collect the field test data
  • Execute the project activities within the timeframe:
    – Co-ordinate sub-contractor of the projects
    – Assist in resources deployment
    – Provide daily progress
    – Prepare and submit project related documents
    – Site visits and meetings
    – Resolutions of complaint, issues and feedback
    – Obtain the PTW (permit-to-work)
    – Check and arrange SI Core Box and other samples in proper manner and send to office
  • Complete the project:
    – On time submission of reports
    – Reinstatement work areas
    – Assist in project sign-off

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Degree in Geology/ Geoscience Engineering/ Civil Engineering or relevant field of study
  • Candidates with good knowledge of Ground investigation and instruments installation, drilling operation and soil and rock classification, and familiar with 5S and safety knowledge is advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Laboratory Works

  • Plan the soil testing activities according to client requirements/assignments:
    – Interpret and verify the client’s assignments (e.g., types of tests, timeframe, etc)
    – Schedule the testing programmes according to priority
    – Delegate manpower to complete the testing tasks
  • Execute the soil testing works to determine the physical and mechanical of the soil samples:
    – Supervise the technicians to prepare the correct samples for soil testing (e.g., check the assignment and UD soil samples)
    – Carry out extrusion of the soil samples
    – Liaise with clients for samples that are unable to meet their requirements for their decision-making
    – Carry out the soil tests according to BS standards or standards specified by client
    – Carry out the disposal of the tested samples according to standard operating procedures
  • Produce soil testing report for the clients:
    – Collate and record data from testing equipment
    – Compile testing results (factual) using the Winclisp
    – Generate and check accuracy of the reports for signatory
    – Submit the approved soil testing reports to clients

Site Works

  • Plan the soil testing activities on site according to client requirements:
    – Verify with client on the soil testing locations (e.g., types of tests, timeframe, etc)
    – Schedule the testing programmes and equipment including resources allocation to fulfil clients requirements
    – Arrange to maintain the testing equipment fitness-for-use
    – Delegate manpower to complete the testing tasks
  • Coordinate the execution of soil testing works to determine the soil settlement and field density:
    – Prepare and brief technicians the soil testing works to be carried
    – Carry out soil testing according to plan and BS standards or standards specified by client
    – Collect site testing data sheet for report preparation
    – Provide solution to site for technical problem or issue
    – Arrange the return of testing equipment
  • Produce soil testing report for the clients:
    – Collate and record data from testing equipment
    – Compile testing results (factual)
    – Generate and check accuracy of the reports for signatory
    – Submit the approved soil testing reports to clients

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Degree in Geology/ Geoscience Engineering/ Civil Engineering or relevant field of study
  • Candidates with 2 years or more experience are preferred.
