As a member of the Group IT team, the candidate will fulfill and value-add to the information, process and operational needs of our users in their daily business activities through the development and support of the Group’s existing and new digital applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, analyse and document application development and its related phases including the conducting of user acceptance tests and the training of users
  • Determine operational feasibility of a digital application through problem definition and the understanding of requirements
  • Demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, user guides and process flowcharts
  • Monitor existing systems in place and recommend improvements in processes and support strategies to meet evolving business needs
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to identify routine needs
  • Provide technical support to end users on software adopted by the Group
  • Undertake and oversee backup and recovery procedures
  • Prepare reports required by the Group
  • Support audit queries and comply with security and control policies in place
  • Optimise the use of available IT resources

Requirements

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science field or discipline
  • Understanding in OOP concepts and adapt to existing coding languages/databases used by the Group (eg. RPGLE, Java, Javascript, PHP, HTML, C, SQL)
  • Understanding in platform integration and API consumption (eg. REST, XML, SOAP)
  • Experience in cloud technologies or app development would be a plus
  • Knowledge in business processes and controls in manufacturing, supply-chain and/or service industries
  • Experience in internal stakeholder engagement, including conducting user interviews and requirements gathering
  • Work well in an agile project team and in an iterative approach, driven by stakeholder feedback and data insights
  • Strong communication, organisational and documentation skills
  • Willing to travel to various entities at different locations within the Group of Companies if required
